The size of everything

I have stumbled upon a very nicely done flash animation visualizing The Scale of the Universe. It makes one feel so small and unimportant. The more I think about it the more our existence on this remarkable creation baffles me and raises questions that might never be answered.
Moments like these reminds me that those 100 years given to us is nothing compared to the size and number of possibilities and mysteries waiting for us to be explored. That is why we have to live every day admiring the beauty and complexity of Everything. That is why we have to live right here right now!

White out

It usually takes me 15 minutes to get to work. Today after cleaning tons of snow from the top of my car and driving to the office (which was more like figure skating on ice) I reached the destination after an hour. The heating in the car was not even going to do what is implied by it's name there for I could not feel my nose and hands.
Looking at all this snow outside and people struggling to get on with their every day lives one has to wonder how people up north cope with endless winter. I mean up UP north. An image of a man getting up from his ice bed arise in my head. After a good cold shower he swallows a big peace of coffee Popsicle. Quately not to wake up his wife he leaves his house, entirely made of ice. Running through day tasks in his head, he gathers up the sleigh dogs and ties them up together. After 3 hours of twists and bumps through an icy neighborhood he finally reaches his office. The man doesn't even notice that he works in a Icy Tower like the one in fantasy movies. He parks his dogs at the employee area and slowly walks to the front door. He is not botherd by the terrible sound that 100 dogs in one place are making. He is already used to all the hauling and barking. He is greeted by the penguin security guard at the entrance and heads straight to the elevator. Only after he is already sitting at his ice cold desk and consumes the third coffee Popsicle that day, only then does he realize that he left his house in his slippers.
My morning winter problems are starting to seem simple and unimportant to mention. Especially when I'm in a warm office with a hot cup of coffee in my hands.
